Extended Wear Posi Quiet brake pads by Centric feature either precision cut or shaved backing plates and mechanically attached shims. These minor details ensure proper fitment in the caliper and virtually eliminate noise associated with pad vibration. Additionally, Centric Posi Quiet brake pads undergo a scorching process that forces any impurities out of the friction material and pre-burnishes the pads to accelerate the break-in process. All Posi Quiet brake pad friction formulations are asbestos-free and are available in three application-specific compounds.
Centric High Carbon brake rotors have advanced metallurgy that reduces brake pad squeal common with high friction, European-style brake pad compounds. The proprietary Molybdenum and Chromium alloys protect the brake rotors from cracking under high-heat conditions and high-performance usage which makes them ideal for use in heavy-duty and high torque applications like towing vehicles, SUVs and pickup trucks. Additionally, this alloy increases the braking performance by increasing the friction couple. Chromium and carbon content also resists oxidation and protects the rotor from corrosion.
